箕面の駅から土産物店を冷やかしながら、滝道を散策すれば
それまで側にあった川が目前を横切る。
橋を渡れば　そこから先は国定公園。
箕面の大瀧に至る深い森とせせらぎに抱かれて、
修験者の道へと変貌する世界。
明治四十三年に建立された元旅館である橋本亭はそんな境界に佇む。

森は豊かなる多様性を孕んでいる。しかし純然たる原初の森などはすでに失われて久しい。が故に、我々は自らの身体や心の奥底に取り残されて密んでいる原初の森を再び見い出そうとしているのかもしれない。

「思索の森」に選出した作家は、決して表層的である事を好まない。
判り易く声高であったり饒舌では無い。
が　我々を静かで深い思索に誘う堅牢な力を持っている。
作品世界は寡黙でありながら─しなやかな─
それでいて　揺るがない強靭な構造に支えられている。
それぞれの筋道を仮定・検証しながら
ギリギリの客観性と陥りがちな直感との狭間で
作品は気配と余韻を醸し出すのだ。

俗世の淵に位置する橋本亭を会場として、
６人の現代美術作家の『思索の森』が
人々を想念の世界へと誘い大滝への道程を歩み出すだろう。

Speculation of Forest

Browsing around the souvenir shops along the Takimichi from the Minoh station, a river flows beside and across my way.
Crossing the bridge, from where it is a quasi-national park,　In the bosom of the deep forest and the stream, it changes into the way to an ascetic Buddhist monks' world.
The Hashimototei, which used to be a Japanese-style inn, built in 1910 is standing in between.

The forest includes a rich diversity of nature but the original and natural forest was gone a long time ago. That is why we might try to search out the original forest lying hidden, left at the bottom of your mind.

The artistﾕs work selected for "Forest of Speculation" are never superficial, never in a loud voice, never loquacious. We know they have a certain power to lead us in quiet and deep thoughts.
The world of the artwork is taciturn and flexible being supported by tough and unshaken structure.
The work produces the atmosphere and lingering mood between objectivity and intuition, assuming and inspecting each coherency.

At one of the venues, the Hashimototei, located in the depth of mundane life, "Speculation of Forest", an exhibition of six contemporary artists, makes you step forward to the waterfall, leading you to the world of conception.
